Does twitter have a real purpose?

Twitter is a social networking site that any one can sign up for. You are able to follow your friends and even celebrities. The people that you follow update their information and statuses which are then sent to your timeline (timeline is where all the statuses are updated from the people you follow). With the statuses, you can retweet or reply back to them. You are also able to update your status which is then posted on to the people’s timeline who are following you.  Twitter is only used for people who like getting updates from celebrities, friends or family.

Twitter is a social networking site for anyone, you can get updates from celebrities and can also contact (tweet) them. I think twitter does have a real purpose. Fans can tweet messages to celebrities that they follow. The purpose for this is that the fans would like to be heard by the celebrities.

According to other people, they think that twitter is addictive and it has a real purpose. One person has said that they use twitter daily to find and share news. Also they said that they have met many interesting people through it. He thinks that twitter is a great social networking site. Another person also thinks that this site is the best way to reach famous people and it is a friendly way of communicating.

There are some disadvantages for using twitter like cyber bullying, and people getting death threats. Even celebrities get death threats which can change their state of mind. These death threats can lead up to very bad consequences like suicide. People can kill themselves over death threats or even name calling. Anything related to cyber bullying. Also people can become addicted to twitter and take everything that they see on there as real.

Overall I think and other people may think that twitter does have a real purpose. This is because people can get in contact with celebrities and it is a fun way of socialising with people you haven’t met. Twitter can help you to find new and interesting people.

Thank you for the comment. I would recommend twitter to people who don't have it, only if they find it interesting, but if they are going to use it for the wrong reasons then no.
